In partnership with local environmental authorities, Imam Al-Kadhim University College has implemented an inorganic waste collection system. Different recycling bins are available across the campus to separate categories of waste, including WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). This initiative aims to improve the recycling process by collecting and sending WEEEs to government facilities for the recovery of valuable materials such as precious metals and rare earth elements, thus contributing to sustainable waste management practices.
A collaborative effort between Imam AlKadhim University College, local municipalities, and environmental services focuses on raising awareness among students and citizens about the importance of WEEE collection and recycling. The project encourages proper disposal of used batteries and electronic devices, ensuring that they are directed to the appropriate government recycling facilities for environmentally responsible processing.
