Imam Al-Kadhum College – Baghdad – Iraq

Imam Al-Kadhum College was established in Baghdad and Maysan city according to the formal document of the Shiite Endowment Office No. 783 at 11/23/2004 to be a scientific and religious edifice and a starting point for the original Islamic thoughts. The parliament and Presidency Council Republic of Iraq approved the law No. (16) year 2009 issued by the Presidency Council on 8/11/2009 and published in the Iraqi Journal of Al-Waqi’a (The Gazette) in Issue (4133) on 8/17/2009. Depending on the mentioned law, the college has become an individual institution that financially and administratively independence in order to achieve the goals of college. It represented by the dean of the college or whoever will be authorized. The college is an institution affiliated to the Shiite Endowment Office, and its head office in Baghdad city. The college has the right to develop departments in other governorates, and it awards undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the Islamic, humanitarian, and engineering fields. It has nine branches in Iraqi governorates distributed as follows:


1. Baghdad (main branch): including departments of Political Sciences, Arabic Language, English Language, Computer Techniques Engineering, History, Law, Quran Sciences, Kindergarten, Finance and Banking, Sharia, Media and Islamic Thoughts.
2. Maysan: including departments of English Language, Computer Techniques Engineering, History, Law, Finance and Banking, Quran Sciences, Sharia and Islamic Thoughts.
3. Najaf: including departments of Computer Techniques Engineering, Finance and Banking, Law, Quran Sciences, Sharia and Media.
4. Wasit: including departments of Arabic Language, English Language, Computer Techniques Engineering, Finance and Banking, Law, Quran Sciences and Media.
5. Diwaniya: including departments of Arabic Language, English Language, Computer Techniques Engineering, History, Finance and Banking, Law, Quran Sciences and Sharia.
6. Babel: including departments of Arabic Language, English Language, Finance and Banking, History, Law, Quran Sciences and Media.
7. Diyala: including departments of Finance and Banking, Law, Quran Sciences and English Language.
8. Dhi Qar: including departments of Finance and Banking, Computer Techniques Engineering, Political Sciences, English Language, Law, Sharia, Media, Kindergarten, Quran Sciences and History.
9. Basra: Including Departments of Law, Sharia and Quran Sciences
Also, there are departments award postgraduate (MSc and PhD) degrees in the (Quran Sciences – Islamic Thoughts – Arabic Language – Sharia) distributed upon the branches.
The Journal of Imam Al-Kadhum College is an official journal belongs to the college admitted by Iraqi ministry of higher education and scientific research. The journal is a multi-disciplinary and peer-reviewed open access journal covering areas in humanitarian and social sciences. It has printed and online ISSN and publish annually 4 issues.
