SDG Impact of Settings & Infrastructure Programs

Example of 3R Program for University Waste

Description:

Imam AlKadhim University College has implemented a waste treatment program focusing on the efficient disposal and recycling of waste generated on campus. This program is built around three primary types of waste bins, each catering to different categories of waste. The waste is then handed over to the government for proper recycling through their established methods and technologies. The key components of the program are as follows:

  1. For food waste and biodegradable materials.
  2. For plastics, including bottles, packaging, and similar materials.
  3. For paper products, including office paper, newspapers, and cardboard.

After collection, all waste is handed over to the local government authorities. The government employs advanced recycling techniques and methods to process the waste efficiently. This partnership ensures that the university’s waste management practices are both environmentally friendly and aligned with national recycling initiatives.
